Paul. I hope that Kenya aggressively follows the McKinsey strategy as I know it has generated good returns for Egypt. 2011 will generate even greater opportunities for outsourcing, particularly in the UK’s public sector as well as the mid cap (SME area). There are several companies in the UK we are in touch with, with an interest in Africa. If you ever pass through London, do get in touch.

hallo, my comment has to do with the I.C.T. role as a go between wananchi, the govt, and all the other players in the ICT sector.Mr Kukubo sir YOU are one gentleman I have alot of respect for since we share a passion for two things, ICT & marketing because am sure at some point you were a member of the marketing society of kenya. i am in the BPO business and was recently informed that payapal, the famous american internet money transfer service is now available in kenya. the only other country in africa where it is available is south africa. my questions to you sir are,
1.why do we have to hear this thro internet blogs and not your board?
2. many kenyans even bank employees dont even know what paypal is, making it hellish for as to start using it? why doesnt your board sensititize them.
thank you sir.

Paul,
Good to see your blog. Belated congratulations and the good job your doing.
Its been a while since i left Kenya in 2007 after my stint at KBC AS VALUE ADDED SERVICES HEAD( Game shows, mobile, content etc) in the initial phases when we discussed N-SOKO and what it would leverage in terms of the media platforms and GSM power.
Alot of water has passed under the bridge, but i have kept in touch with ICT in the region and its development.
I have a project with a GSM operator in Uganda and i have signed an MOU to provide some service to them as they outsource software services and programming.
In this very cut-throat industry where coders dont sleep and mobile phone operators have hit rock bottom in terms of losing revenue in calling rates, sms..and when they initially shunned VAS ideas or stole the ideas, no-recourse.
I seek your help in enlisting top-notch programmers or an institution that is on top of its game in crafting and creating secure programs for running on GSM platforms.
I shall provide more details and keep you in the loop as we move to the next stage.
Keep well,
JAMES CHEGE GATONYE
